Earlier this month we demonstrated how Gemini 3 can help us sift out the overarching trends and patterns of a day of television news coverage, while our thematic analysis of Congressional business can be used to map out the legislative trends of Congress. What would it look like to apply both of these analyses to a day of Iranian and Syrian television news? Here we compare Gemini 3-powered trend analyses of general versus legislative developments in the television news coverage of three channels. We find that even general television news coverage contains extensive discussion of legislative priorities, impacts and trends, suggesting this could be a fascinating avenue for further academic scholarship around how legislative priorities are communicated to the public through general news coverage across the world. No data was used to train or tune any model.
