As we continue to explore how well our automated Google Speech-to-Text API -> Translation API workflow works on Persian-language Iranian broadcasts, we have transcribed and translated an IRINN (Iranian state television) broadcast from today that offers a first glimpse at just why it is so important for journalists and researchers to better understand and report on the parallel universe of Iranian government narratives. This particular episode showcases the way in which repressive regimes around the world repurpose American media and policymaker statements to fit their own narratives.
