Two years ago, Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations of sexual assault by Brett Kavanaugh received wall-to-wall coverage on television news for nearly an entire month. Yet allegations of sexual assault by presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden by Tara Reade have received what amounts to media silence, with only Fox News covering her allegations in any detail until recently.
While Fox News has mentioned her name 584 times to date, it was not until May 1 that MSNBC and CNN covered her allegations in any detail, with MSNBC as of today mentioning her just 209 times and CNN a mere 66 times.
Both CNN and MSNBC have already begun ramping down their coverage, while even Fox News has steadily decreased its coverage over the past few days in the absence of any new information.
