Kalev spoke at the Countering Transnational Threats Senior Executive Seminar: "Understanding Perceptions and Countering Narratives" at National Defense University yesterday, hosted by the Near East South Asia (NESA)'s Center for Strategic Studies.  He provided an overview of GDELT and the state of "big data" global assessment and conflict watchboarding/forecasting, as well as discussing the ability of such approaches to better understand and assess the global narratives surrounding terrorist organizations like ISIS.
