Climate change has been enjoying a surge in television news attention since October 2018, but sharply dropped in October 2019, decreasing to a low in June of this year. Interestingly the pandemic appears to have merely accelerated a shift away from climate coverage that was already underway. However, since July of this year coverage has been trending back up to its June 2019 semipeak, though has decreased this month as attention has pivoted back to the final days of the 2020 race.
