BBVA Geo World Report: Second Half 2014

This past September the research staff in Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA)’s Cross-Country Emerging Markets Unit (BBVA is the second-largest bank in Spain) produced a series of captivating country risk visualizations of the world using GDELT for their Country Risk Quarterly Report for Q3 2014.

The BBVA team's latest result is their semiannual Geo World Report, developed to "track the world geo-political current situation and to better understand the behavior and driving forces of global-scale social systems."  With this report, BBVA has created another fascinating blend of GDELT's global political risk indicators with BBVA's own internal economic indicators and research.  In particular, the 31-page report is filled with a wealth of visualizations exploring the global economic impacts of the year's major conflicts and offers a powerful template for how to incorporate GDELT into economic risk modeling.
