In the aftermath of the 2014 election, mentions of "election" on television news quickly dropped off to its previous levels. Yet, look closely at the graph below and its clear that after Trump's 2016 election, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News never stopped talking about the election, maintaining a constant level of conversation equal to the leadup to the 2014 election over the last four years, dropping only in March 2020 before immediately surging exponentially to present.
