Earlier this year, after long dismissing inflation as “temporary,” the Biden administration finally acknowledged rising consumer costs, with Democrats blaming them on everything from price-gouging and the invasion of Ukraine to Republican hyperbole and even unrealistic public expectations. In the media, Fox News sounded the inflation alarm half a year before CNN and MSNBC, and to date has mentioned rising costs more than CNN and MSNBC combined; more recently, though, all three appear to be pivoting away to other stories.
