Kalev gave the opening address for the Inter-American Development Bank's summit titled "Financial Solutions With Large Datasets: "Big Data" Methods, Lessons, and Challenges" where he talked about the state of the big data world and many of the lessons learned from GDELT about understanding the global world, the importance of local sources and mass translation, physical and latent indicators, and weaving all of these together into cohesive understandings of the world around us.
