The timeline below uses Google's Cloud Video API to nonconsumptively search the onscreen text of each second of airtime on BBC News London, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News since January 1, 2020 for the phrase "Google Earth" using data from the Internet Archive's Television News Archive. This captures the credit line typically displayed during television news use of Google Earth. Usage has been remarkably steady over the course of the year after January's focus on Iran, with around 400-600 seconds of airtime a month featuring Google Earth displays. MSNBC leads with 5,186 seconds of airtime thus far this year, followed by CNN's 4,939 seconds. BBC has relied on it for just 815 seconds of airtime the entire year, followed by Fox News' 192 seconds.
