Earlier today we announced the new GDELT Article List (GAL), which is a minimized and normalized version of the Global Embedded Metadata Graph (GEMG), processing the full set of GEMG fields to extract a simple summarized version of a handful of key metadata fields for each article. Using this new dataset, it is possible to create rich visual article "cards" to display links to articles. The example below shows the kinds of information that can be displayed from this dataset for a given article, including the title, image, author, language, publication date and short one-sentence description of each article, along with the full name and logo of the source news outlet.
