Mentions of the price of gasoline have been rising since May 2021 and accelerating since this past November. Last month they reached an all-time high on Fox News, eclipsing their previous decade-high peak from March 2012. CNN is just barely over its March 2021 peak and MSNBC is actually below its previous peak. It is also clear that far from a sudden overnight surge, concern over gas prices has been building steadily.

Fox News has been mentioning gas prices far more than its peers.
