Kalev presented the opening keynote of the 20th Annual University Of Illinois Web Conference today!
It was a tremendous honor to come back to the institution where I earned both of my degrees (my BS in Computer Science and my PhD in Library and Information Science) and open a conference that has been exploring the evolution of the web for almost as long as my own 24 years in the web and data mining world.
It was also a perfect opening to a conference that revolves around the production of content to explore how all of that material can be used to reimagine how we understand the world around us. One attendee even created this neat sketch of some the presentation's key takeaways!
