Legislative Experiments With Gemini: Turning CRS Reports Into Infographics Using Nano Banana Pro

Given our success in turning dense congressional legislation into easy-to-understand infographics using Gemini 3 and Nano Banana Pro, could we do the same for Congressional Research Service (CRS) products? These textual reports are typically a few pages long and offer backgrounders on key topics of interest to Congress. What if we took eight of the reports that CRS released today and used Gemini 3 and Nano Banana Pro to transform all eight into infographics? In each case we simply provided Nano Banana Pro with the original PDF file directly from the CRS website and our standard generation prompt and the results you see below are the actual Nano Banana Pro output as-is without any human editing. There may be errors in the infographics below – they are intended solely as an experiment to explore how such automated image generation tools could be of use in transforming US Government reports into digestible visual forms. Only the public enterprise Gemini and Nano Banana APIs were used and no data was used to train or tune any model.

While we have not reviewed the figures and information in the infographics below for accuracy or coherence against the original textual reports, spot checks suggest that they each broadly reflect the core findings of the report they visualize and do so in a way that is both visually appealing and instantly understandable, though in at least one infographic the numeric budgetary table is wildly incorrect, reinforcing the need in production applications to verify and edit the generation prompts.
