Immigration has ebbed and flowed over the past decade on television news, increasing in early 2013 and remaining elevated since mid-2015 when Donald Trump made it one of his signature campaign issues, with Fox News ramping up its coverage. Beginning in mid-august 2019 it has all but disappeared from the news. Interestingly, its departure from the news agenda predates the pandemic by five months.
