Innovation and technology are essential to reduce the environmental impact of human activities and face the derived environmental and social challenges. This chapter evaluates the available information on sustainable economic and organizational development and promotes action plans for achieving sustainable development. The authors analysed 166,088 news articles on the link between sustainable economic and organizational development and technological innovation using the Global Database of Events, Language, and Tone (GDELT). They used natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract key concepts about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and technological innovation. Their study offers a more comprehensive perspective on how digital innovation promotes global sustainability. The generated insights and identified trends can be incorporated as key elements of business strategies and entrepreneurship. This research chapter provides a basis for future research in sustainability and areas of innovation and promotes the use of innovative NLP techniques as a methodology.
