Asking Gemini 3 Flash To Watch A Video And Vividly Visually Describe It Scene By Scene & The Importance Of Media Resolution

Yesterday we explored having Gemini 3 Flash watch several videos and describe their contents from a domain-specific standpoint, cataloging weaponry and analyzing iconography of a Taliban video and conducting a technical assessment of a Russian Terminator tank. This time we will ask it to break each video down into discrete scenes and describe each scene in a paragraph or two of rich vivid visual detail with an eye towards how this could be used to enable subsequent visual search alongside more traditional multimodal embedding models.  One major finding is that while in our past experiments Low and High Media Resolution yielded nearly identical results, for the use case below of rich visual description, High Media Resolution yields a highly significant improvement in both segmentation and quality, including eliminating several errors in the Low Resolution descriptions and doing a much better job of properly describing both the visuals and spirit of several of the action sequences.

Let's start with our usual ABC World News Tonight With David Muir: February 3, 2023 broadcast and use Low Media Resolution with Gemini 3 Flash:

Make a detailed table of everything you see in this video, along with timecode ranges (start/stop times) where you see each. Make the table detailed enough that someone who has never seen the video can understand what it depicts visually.

Detailed Video Description Table

Timecode Range Segment/Topic Vivid Visual Description
00:00 – 00:08 Commercial: National University The video begins with a three-panel split screen. On the left, a spotted dog sits in a dimly lit room; in the center, a woman smiles broadly while touching her hair; on the right, a close-up shows hands clapping. This transitions into a mosaic of images depicting diverse people: a woman being hugged by a child, a student writing at a desk, a crowded classroom, and a person cheering with their arms raised. The National University logo, a blue stylized "N," appears with the text "Supporting the Whole You" and the URL "NU.edu." A final text overlay at the bottom reads "WSCUC-Accredited."
00:09 – 00:26 Introduction: Top Stories Anchor David Muir is seated at a sleek, glass news desk in a high-tech studio. He wears a dark suit, white shirt, and a thin black tie. Behind him is a large digital screen displaying a dark blue world map with glowing outlines of the continents. As he speaks, stylized white lines and "Breaking News" graphics flash across the screen. The atmosphere is serious and urgent, underscored by a rhythmic, dramatic news theme.
00:27 – 00:48 Story Tease: Chinese Spy Balloon Visuals transition to a bright, clear blue sky where a solitary, perfectly spherical white balloon is seen floating at a great altitude. A digital zoom reveals a dark, complex structure—the intelligence bay—suspended underneath it. A graphic overlay states "TRACKING CHINA SPY BALLOON" in bold red and white letters. The sequence includes a brief clip of Secretary of State Antony Blinken speaking solemnly behind a podium, and a map highlighting the state of Montana.
00:49 – 01:12 Story Tease: Arctic Blast The screen fills with grainy, atmospheric footage of city streets engulfed in thick white fog and falling snow. Buildings are barely visible through the haze, and streetlights cast a dim, eerie glow. A weather map of the Northeast United States appears, colored in deep shades of purple and pink to signify extreme cold. Numbers like "-55" and "-39" are placed over Maine and New York. Large text reads "ONCE-IN-A-GENERATION ARCTIC BLAST." A brief shot shows a utility worker in a cherry picker bucket working on power lines against a backdrop of frozen, leafless trees.
01:13 – 01:23 Story Tease: ER Doctor Assault A professional headshot of a middle-aged man with dark hair and a friendly smile, identified as Dr. Michael Mammone, is shown. This is starkly contrasted by nighttime footage of a crime scene. A residential intersection is cordoned off with yellow "Police Line Do Not Cross" tape. Flashing red and blue lights reflect off the wet pavement. In the center of the road, a dark-colored mountain bike lies twisted on its side, surrounded by small yellow evidence markers numbered 6 and 7.

A large, jagged triangular piece of the wing's tip is missing, revealing the interior structure. They are carrying a large, mangled piece of white metal—presumably the missing wing fragment—between them.

Brigadier General Patrick Ryder is seen speaking at a blue Pentagon podium, his chest adorned with rows of colorful military service ribbons. He maintains a serious, professional expression throughout the briefing.
04:56 – 06:10 Report: Risk & Diplomacy A high-resolution photo of the balloon shows it is translucent, with the black, box-like intelligence-gathering equipment clearly visible beneath the envelope. Long, rectangular black strips, identified as solar panels, are seen attached to the sides of the equipment bay. The report transitions to Antony Blinken standing before an American flag and a South Korean flag. He speaks into a cluster of microphones, his expression grave as he announces the suspension of diplomatic talks.
06:11 – 06:26 Report: Balloon Path Continued The screen shows several more clips of "citizen journalism" video: a white dot in the sky over a residential neighborhood, and a close-up through a telescope lens showing the balloon's equipment bay in greater detail. A map shows the predicted path of the balloon moving eastward across the center of the continental United States, passing through Missouri and heading toward North Carolina.

09:16 – 10:16 Report: Dangerous Cold in Boston Footage from Boston shows people walking briskly through a historic cobblestone alleyway, steam rising from underground vents. Pedestrians are heavily bundled in thick parkas, scarves that cover their faces, and beanies. 25:15 – 25:29 Commercial: Swiffer WetJet A young woman with long dark hair is seen standing in a modern, white kitchen. She looks down at several muddy brown paw prints on the white tile floor. She grabs a purple Swiffer WetJet mop and easily wipes the prints away with a single stroke. An animated graphic shows the mop's purple pad absorbing and "locking away" the dirt particles. The commercial ends with a "Limited Time Offer" graphic for $10 off.
25:30 – 25:44 Commercial: GOLO Steve, a bald man with a full white beard, is shown in a split-screen "before and after" comparison. On the left, a video shows him when he was significantly heavier, playing disc golf in a park. On the right, he is shown in the present day, looking much fitter and healthier in a black sweater. He sits in a modern, plant-filled office and speaks directly into the camera about his weight loss journey.
25:45 – 26:30 Commercial: Eliquis Three middle-aged women are seen in a dry, desert landscape with large cacti and rocky hills. They are dressed in "Western" style: one wears a brown blouse and jeans, another wears a pink shirt and a white cowboy hat. They are seen walking together through a dusty, Old West-style town. One woman is shown trying on a pair of leather cowboy boots in a general store. They all appear active and healthy.
26:31 – 26:45 Tease: ABC 7 News Next Ama Daetz, a woman with curly hair and a red dress, reports from a local news studio. The segment includes video of a large, three-story white building with red tile roofs and graffiti on its lower walls, situated next to a river. 26:46 – 28:47 Feature Story: Robin Roberts' Jump Robin Roberts is seen inside a small elevator, where the digital floor counter rapidly climbs from 4 to 53. Once at the top, the camera shows a panoramic view of Auckland's skyscrapers and harbor from 630 feet up. Roberts, looking nervous but excited, is shown standing on a narrow metal grating. She takes a deep breath, and on the count of one, she steps off into the air. The camera follows her in a dramatic freefall toward the city streets below. She is seen landing safely on a large blue padded mat and giving a high-five to a female crew member.
28:48 – 28:54 Broadcast Conclusion The final shot of the main broadcast shows David Muir at night, sitting at a desk in his personal office. He wears a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and no tie. He is seen working on a computer and looking over documents. An American flag hangs on the dark wood wall behind him. 29:29 – 29:58 I-Team Report: Oakland School Reporter Stephanie Sierra is seen in the studio wearing a red dress. She introduces the report, which features several clips of blurry, low-resolution surveillance video. The video shows people standing on street corners and walking near the fence of a school identified as St. Anthony's. A digital map shows the school's location at East 15th Street in Oakland. The segment ends with a clip of Oakland City Councilmember Noel Gallo speaking from his home via a video call.

Let's try this same modified prompt on the 1.5-minute Taliban video. Note that it hallucinates at :34, seeing a soldier picking up a shard of glass when in reality the soldier is overviewing the mission on a tactical map, though it does look a lot like glass. Overall it does a poor job of describing the sequence around 1:00 where the soldiers storm a compound. The description below does not capture the spirit and meaning of the storming of the compound rather than an ordinary patrol. While it captures the overall gist of the video, it does quite a poor job in a number of areas.

Make a detailed table of everything you see in this video, along with timecode ranges (start/stop times) where you see each. Make the table detailed enough that someone who has never seen the video can understand what it depicts visually. Give a vividly detailed paragraph-long visual description for each that allows someone who is visually impaired to fully understand the visuals.
Timecode Range Scene Title Vividly Detailed Visual Description
00:00 – 00:01 National TV Logo Intro The video opens with a bright, vibrant graphic featuring a sky-blue background with soft, bokeh-style light circles. In the center, the word "Milly" (National) is written in a large, stylized white Arabic-based script. Below this, smaller text identifies the station as "National TV Afghanistan." The corners of the frame are decorated with colorful, soft-focus flowers, primarily pink and yellow, giving the intro a polished, broadcast-news appearance.
00:01 – 00:13 Soldiers in Silhouette An atmospheric shot of soldiers shown as dark silhouettes against a backdrop of swirling white smoke or fog, illuminated by a single, stark light source from behind. One soldier stands prominently in the center, wearing a helmet with night-vision goggles mounted on top. Ornate white Islamic calligraphy appears over the scene. The camera cuts between single soldiers and small groups, all standing motionless and stoic in the hazy, dark environment.
00:13 – 00:16 Soldiers in Tactical Gear A group of about five soldiers stands in a disciplined row in a bright, outdoor setting that appears hazy with dust or smoke. They are fully equipped in professional tactical gear, including olive drab and camouflage vests, black face masks, helmets, and tactical goggles. Each soldier carries a modern assault rifle held across their chest. Their uniforms are uniform and modern, projecting a sense of an elite, well-equipped military force.
00:16 – 00:20 Armed Pickup at Sunset A dark green pickup truck drives across a flat, arid landscape during the "golden hour" of sunset. The sky behind it is a soft gradient of orange and muted purple. In the bed of the truck, a soldier stands behind a large, mounted heavy machine gun. A prominent white flag, associated with the Taliban, flies from the back of the vehicle as it moves steadily through the desert terrain.
00:20 – 00:34 Soldiers Performing Prayer Soldiers in tactical uniforms participating in Islamic prayer. It begins with a close-up of three soldiers standing with their heads bowed. It then cuts to them in the prostration (sujud) position on the ground, with their rifles laid neatly in front of them. The camera pans across a long line of soldiers sitting on their heels in the final portion of the prayer. Their gloved hands rest on their knees, emphasizing a blend of religious devotion and military readiness.
00:34 – 00:39 Picking Up Fragment A close-up of a hand wearing a black tactical glove reaching down toward a dusty, debris-strewn floor covered in shards of broken glass. The person carefully picks up a small, jagged blue fragment—possibly a piece of tile or equipment—and holds it up for inspection. The lighting is dim and focused, highlighting the texture of the debris.
00:39 – 00:43 Guard Tower and Compound A wide, low-angle shot shows a military or border compound at dusk. In the center of the frame is a tall, wooden or metal guard tower overlooking a long, low perimeter wall. A flagpole stands nearby, though the flag is mostly obscured. The scene is shot through the silhouette of small, wild plants and flowers in the foreground, creating a sense of distance and observation.
00:43 – 00:52 Vehicle and Dismounting Close-up shots of a vehicle's large, rugged tires rolling over a paved road. The scene cuts to a white pickup truck coming to a stop. A soldier dressed in full black tactical gear, including a vest with multiple pouches and a helmet with a camera or light, hops out of the passenger side. He immediately raises his assault rifle, aiming it toward an unseen target as he moves with purpose.
00:52 – 01:07 Soldiers Patrolling on Foot A squad of soldiers patrolling through a dry, rugged landscape. They jump off the back of a slow-moving truck and begin walking along a dusty road. They are spaced out in a tactical formation, carrying rifles and wearing heavy backpacks. In the background, there are several large, dilapidated or abandoned industrial buildings under a bright, clear sky, with mountains visible in the far distance.
01:07 – 01:20 Aiming and Firing Weapons A series of rapid, cinematic cuts of soldiers in combat stances. One soldier is shown in a tight close-up, aiming his rifle through an optical scope. Another is seen firing his weapon from behind a low wall, with dust kicking up around him. The shots are often framed with lens flares and high-contrast lighting, emphasizing the intensity and focus of the soldiers as they operate their equipment.
01:20 – 01:29 Heavy Weapons and RPGs The focus shifts to heavier weaponry. A soldier is seen in close-up, his eyes visible through clear tactical goggles as he looks through the sights of a weapon. The camera shows a soldier hoisting a Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) launcher onto his shoulder, its red warhead prominent. Another shot shows the silhouette of a soldier holding a large machine gun against a bright, hazy sky.
01:29 – 01:33 National TV Logo Transition The stylized "Milly" logo returns, this time as a 3D metallic blue and silver graphic that rotates and slides across the screen. It is accompanied by the same floral borders and sky-blue background as the intro, serving as a transition into the more news-oriented segment of the video.
01:33 – 01:38 Night Humvee Convoy A convoy of several tan Humvees is seen driving slowly down a dark road at night. Each vehicle has its headlights on, cutting through the darkness. Small white flags are mounted on the antennas of the vehicles. The scene is dark and grainy, suggesting it was filmed with a consumer camera or under very low light conditions.
01:38 – 01:43 Night Combat Footage Shaky, low-light footage of active combat at night. Bright flashes of light from artillery or rocket launches illuminate the dark horizon. Tracers can be seen streaking through the air. The audio features the muffled sounds of explosions and shouting, conveying a chaotic and violent scene in a remote, mountainous area.
01:43 – 01:47 Official Press Conference A man with a thick black beard and a large black turban—likely a government spokesperson—is seated at a wooden podium. Behind him is a large blue seal for the "Government Media and Information Center." He is looking down at notes and speaking seriously. In the corner of the screen, an inset window continues to show the grainy footage of night-time explosions.
01:47 – 01:50 Pakistani Border Soldiers Pakistani military soldiers recognizable by their "chocolate chip" desert digital camouflage. One soldier stands guard at a border post looking toward a backdrop of snow-capped mountains under a clear blue sky. Another shot shows a pair of Pakistani soldiers walking through a rocky, hilly area, carrying rifles.
01:50 – 01:54 Civilian Interview A local man being interviewed on a street or in a market. He has a long, salt-and-pepper beard and is wearing a traditional white prayer cap and a beige vest. He gestures with his hand as he speaks with intensity directly into the camera. In the blurred background, street activity with cars and shops can be seen.

Let's try a second time with the exact same prompt to see if we get better results the second time. This time we actually get worse results.

Start Time End Time Visual Description
00:00 00:13 The video begins with a vibrant blue graphic featuring stylized white Pashto and Dari script for "Milli," framed by colourful flowers in the corners. This transitions to a high-contrast, cinematic scene where the silhouettes of soldiers, equipped with modern tactical gear and night vision goggles, stand amidst swirling plumes of white smoke against a dark background. Ornate white Islamic calligraphy fades in over their forms, adding a spiritual layer to the martial imagery.
00:13 00:22 A group of soldiers in various camouflage patterns, wearing tactical vests, helmets, and face masks, stand together in a hazy environment. The scene shifts to a pickup truck moving across a desert landscape at dusk. Mounted on the back is a heavy machine gun, and a large white flag with black Arabic script—the standard of the Taliban—billows in the wind, silhouetted against the soft glow of the setting sun.
00:22 00:34 The camera focuses closely on soldiers' hands and tactical gloves as they rest on their knees in a row, then moves to shots of them bowing in prayer. The lighting is dramatic, highlighting the texture of their gear and the discipline of their movements. Rows of soldiers are seen kneeling together in a long line, demonstrating collective devotion and military order in a synchronized, solemn manner.
00:34 00:51 A soldier’s gloved hand gently explores debris and shards of glass scattered on a floor, suggesting the aftermath of a conflict. The scene cuts to a desolate military perimeter wall topped with a guard tower under an overcast, early morning sky. A white pickup truck then pulls up, and soldiers clad in black tactical uniforms and masks jump out, immediately taking up defensive positions with their assault rifles raised and ready.
00:51 01:33 A series of fast-paced clips show soldiers engaging in tactical training. They are seen jumping from the backs of moving trucks, advancing through ruins, and aiming rifles through windows. Detailed close-ups emphasize their modern equipment, including ballistic helmets and communications headsets. One soldier is shown preparing to fire a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) in a barren, mountainous training ground before the segment loops back to the "Milli" title card.
01:33 01:48 The scene shifts to night, showing a convoy of military vehicles with their headlights cutting through the darkness. This is followed by low-quality, green-tinged night vision footage capturing bursts of light and what appear to be explosions during a night-time engagement. The video then transitions to a brightly lit press room where a bearded man in a black turban and vest, identified as a spokesperson, sits at a wooden desk with a formal government emblem behind him, speaking calmly.
01:48 01:54 A soldier in a tan camouflage uniform stands guard at a checkpoint, with majestic snow-capped mountains towering in the distance. The view shifts to soldiers in full green tactical gear carefully navigating a steep, rocky mountain path. Finally, an older Afghan man with a grey beard, wearing a white prayer cap and a traditional vest over a long tunic, speaks passionately while gesturing with one hand in an outdoor setting.

Let's try a third time, but this time we will use High Media Resolution. This time we get vastly better results, it correct identifies the satellite map and the mock compound assault:

Time Range Visual Description
00:00 – 00:07 The video opens with a vibrant title card featuring a soft blue background adorned with pink, white, and yellow flowers. The "Milly NEWS" logo is visible in the top right corner. The scene then transitions to a dramatic, dark environment filled with swirling green smoke. In the center, a soldier is seen in silhouette from behind, wearing a tactical helmet and gear. Ornate white calligraphic text in Arabic script fades in over the soldier's silhouette, adding a sense of solemnity and importance to the image.
00:07 – 00:16 Continuing the dramatic tone, the scene shows more soldiers in silhouette. The background is a hazy, glowing green, suggesting a foggy or smoky battlefield. Multiple soldiers, fully equipped with tactical helmets, goggles, and gear, stand in a line. The backlighting creates a powerful halo effect around their forms, emphasizing their readiness and military strength. The camera captures them from a low angle, making them appear imposing against the swirling mist.
00:17 – 00:33 A dark military truck equipped with a mounted machine gun and a white flag with black Arabic script (the Taliban flag) drives across a flat, barren landscape during the dim light of dusk. The scene then cuts to a close-up of a large group of soldiers in black uniforms and tactical vests. They are seen performing the 'sajdah' (prostration) during prayer, their foreheads touching the ground in perfect unison. Detailed shots reveal patches on their arms and the specialized equipment they carry on their backs.
00:34 – 00:46 Soldiers are gathered inside a building, hunched over a large, detailed satellite map spread across the floor. They point at specific locations, indicating strategic planning. The scene shifts to an exterior shot at sunset, showing a long concrete perimeter wall with a guard tower. A military truck with a gunner in the back drives slowly down a paved road adjacent to the wall. In the far distance, the silhouettes of rugged mountains are visible against the fading orange and purple sky.
00:47 – 01:07 In a more active sequence, a group of soldiers wearing black tactical uniforms, full face masks, and helmets jump out of the back of a white pickup truck. They move with coordinated speed and precision across a field of dry, brown grass. Carrying assault rifles, they approach a set of abandoned, weathered concrete buildings. The camera follows closely behind them as they advance in a tactical formation, demonstrating their training in compound infiltration and maneuver.
01:08 – 01:28 This segment features high-definition tactical shots of soldiers in action. They are seen peeking around corners of mud-brick walls, aiming their rifles with precision scopes. Close-up shots show a soldier's intense eyes behind a mask as he focuses on a target. One soldier is depicted carrying a red-wrapped RPG launcher on his shoulder. They move through a desert-like environment with sparse vegetation, showcasing tactical movements, covering each other, and maintaining a high state of combat readiness.
01:29 – 01:33 The video transitions back to a clean, professional news-style animation. A stylized, 3D white logo spins and settles on a bright blue background. This background is decorated with out-of-focus light orbs (bokeh) and clusters of vibrant pink and yellow flowers in the corners. The words "Milly NEWS" are clearly displayed along with social media icons for platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram, signaling the end of the produced segment and a return to the news frame.
01:34 – 01:47 The footage shifts to a grainy, low-light night scene. A convoy of military vehicles, including several Humvees and trucks with white flags, drives along a dark, unlit road. The headlights of the vehicles provide the only illumination. This is followed by very dark, shaky footage showing sudden bursts of fire and bright flashes of light in the distance, resembling explosions or nighttime weapons fire. The chaotic nature of the footage suggests a real-world combat scenario or a night operation.
01:48 – 01:53 The final segment shows daytime footage of a soldier in a desert camouflage uniform standing guard. In the background, there is a border installation with Pakistani flags and majestic, snow-covered mountains. The video then cuts to Taliban soldiers in tactical gear walking over rocky, mountainous terrain. Finally, the camera focuses on a bearded man wearing a traditional Afghan hat and vest, speaking directly into the camera during an interview, set against the backdrop of a local market or street.

Let's ask for even more detail:

Give far more detailed visual descriptions, with multiple paragraphs for each.
Time Range Visual Description
00:00 – 00:07 The video begins with an introductory graphic. The background is a bright, clear sky-blue color. In the upper right corner is a rectangular white box with "milly NEWS" written in black and blue text. In the center, a large, stylized white "milly" logo sits above text that reads "DA AFGHANISTAN D KHALKO RASANAY" (The people's media of Afghanistan). The corners of the screen are decorated with soft, illustrative flowers: pink cherry blossoms on the left and bright yellow clusters on the right. Small white and pink petals or light orbs drift across the screen, creating a gentle bokeh effect. <br><br> The scene transitions abruptly to a dark, atmospheric shot of a lone soldier in silhouette. The background is filled with swirling, thick green smoke or fog, illuminated from behind to create a dramatic halo around the soldier's form. The soldier is equipped with a modern tactical helmet featuring night-vision mountings. Overlaid on this silhouette, white Arabic calligraphy slowly fades into view. The text is the "Basmala" (In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful). At the bottom left, a small inset window displays a night scene of a military convoy.
00:07 – 00:16 The silhouette of the soldier turns, and the camera reveals more soldiers standing in a line. The lighting remains a haunting, bright green, casting long shadows and obscuring facial details. Each soldier is heavily equipped with tactical gear, including helmets, ballistic goggles, and vests. The smoke curls around them, adding to the cinematic, high-stakes feel of the imagery. The camera captures them from a low perspective, making them appear tall and imposing against the glowing mist. <br><br> As the scene progresses, the intensity of the backlighting increases, turning the soldiers into sharp black cutouts against an almost blinding green field. The movement is slow and deliberate, emphasizing a sense of discipline and readiness. The inset window at the bottom continues to show different angles of the night convoy and flickering lights that look like distant fires or flares.
00:17 – 00:33 A dark green pickup truck, modified as a "technical" military vehicle, drives across a flat, dusty plain at twilight. A heavy machine gun is mounted in the back, manned by a gunner. A large white flag featuring the "Shahada" in black script (the flag of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan) waves prominently from the vehicle's frame. The sky in the background is a pale, hazy orange, meeting the dark silhouette of the ground. <br><br> The footage then cuts to a powerful scene of religious devotion. Dozens of soldiers dressed in black tactical uniforms and brown chest rigs are seen prostrating themselves on the ground in a synchronized act of prayer ('sajdah'). Close-up shots focus on the details of their gear: a soldier’s hand in a black tactical glove resting on the pavement, a patch on an arm with Arabic text and a logo, and the rows of men moving in perfect unison. The setting appears to be a paved area outdoors, possibly a parade ground or airfield, under the soft light of a setting sun.
00:34 – 00:46 The camera moves inside to show a group of soldiers gathered around a massive satellite map spread out across the floor. The map shows an aerial view of a city or a large industrial complex. Several hands, clad in tactical gloves, point to specific areas of the map, indicating strategic planning or the identification of targets. The lighting is low, with the map being the primary focus. <br><br> The video then shifts back outside to a long, high concrete wall topped with barbed wire and a tall guard tower. The lighting suggests late afternoon. A dark military truck drives slowly along a paved road running parallel to the wall. In the distance, the silhouettes of jagged, barren mountains are visible against a hazy sky. A small inset window in the corner shows a lush valley with a river, providing a stark contrast to the military-themed main footage.
00:47 – 01:07 An action sequence begins with a white pickup truck coming to a halt on a paved road. A soldier in full black tactical gear, including a mask and helmet, steps out of the front passenger seat, holding an assault rifle at the ready. Several more soldiers jump out of the open truck bed. They move with practiced speed and coordination, fanning out across a field of tall, dry, brown grass. <br><br> The camera follows the soldiers from behind as they advance toward a series of dilapidated, one-story concrete buildings. The landscape is arid and rugged, with a large, steep mountain looming in the background. The soldiers move in a tactical formation, covering different angles and checking their surroundings. One soldier carries a large backpack, while others carry specialized equipment. The scene conveys a sense of an active operation or a high-level training exercise.
01:08 – 01:28 The tactical footage continues with tight, dramatic shots of the soldiers engaged in combat-like maneuvers. One soldier is seen leaning against a mud-brick wall, peering through the optical scope of his rifle. Intense lens flares dance across the screen, simulating the effect of bright sunlight hitting the camera lens. Another soldier is shown in a tight close-up, his eyes focused and determined behind the slit of his black face mask. <br><br> The soldiers are shown navigating the rocky terrain and ruins of the abandoned buildings. One soldier carries a red-colored RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) launcher on his shoulder. They move with caution and precision, crouching behind cover and signaling to one another. The lighting is harsh and bright, emphasizing the dusty, parched nature of the environment. The camera work is dynamic, jumping between wide shots of the group and intimate close-ups of weapons and equipment.
01:29 – 01:33 The production transitions back to the "milly NEWS" branding. A thick, 3D white ring, shaped like the letter "P" or a stylized "m", rotates into the center of the frame against the same sky-blue background seen in the intro. Small pink and white light particles float gently in the air. <br><br> The final news graphic appears, featuring the large white "milly" logo and the Pashto text below it. Social media icons for Facebook, X, YouTube, and Instagram are displayed clearly in the center. The floral decorations—pink blossoms on the left and yellow jasmine on the right—return to frame the composition. The small inset window at the bottom left shows a final dark image of a fire burning in the night.
01:34 – 01:47 The video shifts into a series of real-world clips. The first is a nighttime shot of a military convoy moving through the desert. Several Humvees and trucks are visible, their headlights cutting through the darkness and kicking up clouds of dust. White flags are attached to the antennas and frames of the vehicles. <br><br> This is followed by a brief, low-quality clip of a press conference. Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, is seated at a wooden desk with a microphone. Behind him is the black and white circular seal of the "Government Media and Information Center." The scene then cuts back to very dark, shaky footage from a nighttime operation. Multiple bright flashes of light and orange fireballs appear against the black sky, suggesting explosions or heavy weapons being fired.
01:48 – 01:53 The final segment of the video shows a soldier in a desert-colored camouflage uniform standing guard at a border crossing. He is carrying a rifle and wearing sunglasses. In the background, a green gate is visible with the flag of Pakistan on it. Beyond the gate, massive, snow-capped mountain peaks rise into the clear blue sky. <br><br> The footage then cuts to a group of soldiers in green and black tactical gear walking through a rocky, mountainous area with sparse green bushes. The video concludes with a close-up interview of an older man with a long, black and grey beard. He is wearing a white prayer cap, a black vest over a light-colored tunic, and has a grey scarf draped over his shoulder. He speaks animatedly with his hand raised, as if explaining something, while standing in front of what looks like a street-side food stall.

And the 6-minute Russian terminator tank video with this expanded prompt. As with the Taliban video, we see a highly significant improvement in quality of both segmentation and descriptive detail in the High vs Low Media Resolution.

Low Media Resolution:

Start Time Stop Time Entity/Event Visual Description
00:00 01:15 Introduction & Combat Footage Intercut A man with a dark beard and hair, wearing black sunglasses and a dark grey zip-up hoodie, stands in an open field. Behind him, the blurred silhouette of a large, olive-green military vehicle is visible. He gestures with his hands as he speaks directly into a microphone clipped to his jacket. The scene is bright, with a clear sky and yellow wildflowers scattered in the grass. <br><br> The video periodically cuts to grainy, black-and-white thermal or night-vision footage. These clips show several small heat signatures, likely soldiers, running across a flat landscape. Another clip from a high-angle thermal camera shows a tank-like vehicle moving through a smoke-filled area, with a white-hot signature indicating heat from its engine and tracks. The footage has a digital overlay including crosshairs, a "REC" indicator, and battery levels.
01:16 02:05 Firing Demonstration: 30mm Cannons The Terminator BMPT, a heavy tracked vehicle with a low-profile turret, is positioned in a grassy field under a blue sky. From a side-profile view, the twin 30mm cannons at the top of the turret fire rapidly. Bright orange-yellow flames and clouds of grey smoke erupt from the muzzles with each shot. The barrels recoil slightly, and spent shell casings can be seen ejecting. <br><br> The target is an old, rusted BMP-1 hull, stripped of its turret and tracks, sitting in the green grass. Aerial footage from a drone shows the projectiles impacting the hull, creating a series of small, bright explosions and kicks of dirt around it. Some shots hit the side of the rusted hull directly, causing more smoke and debris to fly. <br><br> Interior shots from the gunner's station show a square digital monitor. The screen displays a crosshair and a grainy image of the target. When the cannons fire, the screen vibrates, and flashes of light appear where the rounds strike the target. The camera also shows the top of the turret from a POV perspective behind the cannons, showing them tilting upwards and releasing a constant stream of fire.
02:06 02:51 Armor & Protection Overview The presenter walks alongside the side of the vehicle, which is covered in thick, rectangular metal plates. The camera provides extreme close-ups of these armor segments. One section shows heavy side skirts with chains dangling from the bottom. Text overlays appear: "48 T" (likely referring to the weight in tons) and "450 mm of armor," highlighting the thickness of the side protection. <br><br> The focus then shifts to the explosive reactive armor (ERA). The camera zooms in on small, brick-like blocks mounted on the vehicle's hull and turret. These blocks are painted the same olive green as the rest of the vehicle. A text overlay labels these as "Kontakt-5." The presenter points to these blocks, explaining their function in deflecting anti-tank rounds. The metal shows some signs of wear, with minor scratches and rusted spots around the mounting bolts.
02:52 03:43 Main Armament: 30mm 2A42 Cannons The camera focuses on the primary weapon system: a pair of long, black 30mm 2A42 automatic cannons mounted side-by-side in the center of the turret. The muzzles have large, rectangular muzzle brakes. A digital text overlay indicates a "Fire Rate: 550 rounds/min." The presenter sits on top of the vehicle's hull, gesturing toward the cannons behind him. <br><br> Multiple angles show the cannons elevating and depressing. The vehicles are painted in a standard olive-green military camouflage. <br><br>The camera focuses on the presenter's face and upper body, occasionally cutting back to show more of the vehicles. One vehicle's massive turret structure, with its twin cannon barrels pointed skyward, is a prominent feature behind his right shoulder. He wears a small DJI microphone clipped to his jacket, indicating a professional field report or documentary setting.
00:42 – 01:00 Vehicle Mobility Demonstration This segment features aerial drone footage of the "Terminator" in motion. A bird's-eye view shows a single vehicle navigating a winding dirt track through a sparse, green forest. A thick trail of dust rises from its tracks, drifting into the trees. The vehicle moves with surprising speed and agility for its bulk. <br><br>The drone then tracks the vehicle from behind as it drives down a long, straight dirt road cutting through expansive, vibrant green fields. The vastness of the landscape highlights the vehicle's capability for long-range deployment. The lighting is bright and even, typical of a slightly hazy day, which brings out the textures of the dirt road and the surrounding vegetation.
01:00 – 01:15 Target Range and Preparation The presenter walks along the same dirt road seen previously, gesturing toward the open landscape. He explains the setup for a firing demonstration. The camera pans across a nearby field to show several rusted, stripped-down hulls of old BMP armored personnel carriers. These rusted relics, missing their turrets and tracks, serve as stationary targets for the weapons test. <br><br>The scene transitions back to a close-up of the presenter as he finishes his introduction, his expression serious and focused. He stands firmly on the dirt road, with the wide field stretching out behind him, setting the stage for the raw power about to be displayed.
01:15 – 02:05 Live Fire: 30mm Cannon Demonstration A high-energy sequence shows the BMPT-72's primary armament in action. Slow-motion shots capture the twin 30mm automatic cannons firing in rapid bursts. Huge, brilliant orange flames erupt from the muzzle brakes with every round, and a steady stream of large brass shell casings is ejected from the side of the turret, clattering onto the ground. <br><br>Impact footage shows the shells hitting the target BMP hulls. Puffs of grey smoke and dirt explode around the targets with each direct hit. One specific direct hit on the front of a hull results in a bright, localized explosion, with the text "BMP-1" overlaid on the screen. The sequence concludes with an aerial drone view showing a hail of shells impacting a target area, creating a large, expanding cloud of dust and smoke that eventually completely obscures the target hull.
02:05 – 02:48 Armor and Protection Walkthrough The presenter stands between two vehicles to discuss their protection. He walks alongside the hull, pointing out the heavy armor. A close-up shows the side skirts, which are thick steel plates.
