From the Global Twitter Heartbeat to the SyFy Opposite Worlds Show to the non-Western world (and many more to be announced shortly) the GDELT Project is exploring how social media is used around the world and how people and societies express themselves and talk about the world online.

We are proud to announce that the Global Twitter Heartbeat project was honored this week as one of the winners of the ACM WebSci 2014 conference's Data Challenge.
