As we continue to explore the frontiers of automatic transcription and translation of global television news, in collaboration with the Internet Archive's TV News Archive, we've transcribed a sample English-language South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) broadcast. While there is no playable video for this broadcast, the automatic transcript can be viewed alongside the right-hand margin of the thumbnail grid in the Visual Explorer interface, exploring how transcripts, even without playable video clips, can help with understanding the context of the thumbnail grid.
