We're excited to announce today a major new update to the Visual Explorer's homepage that transforms how we display the daily catalog of broadcasts archived by the Internet Archive's TV News Archive. Now when you visit the Visual Explorer's frontpage you'll still see the bulleted list of available channels at the top of the page, but when you scroll down to the actual list of today's broadcasts, instead of massive "list of lists" with endlessly scrolling bulleted lists of shows, we now display each channel's broadcasts as an instantly skimmable array of thumbnails with the show names displayed underneath each. This new thumbnail grid interface brings the same metaphor we use to make television skimmable to the catalog itself, making the daily list of broadcasts skimmable in the same fashion.
We are excited to see how this newly transformed interface makes it easier to navigate the TV News Archive's ever-growing archive of global television news.
