The phrase "big tech" entered the television news lexicon in a glimmer briefly at the end of 2013, but took off in September 2017 with October 2020 representing an almost vertical increase of 5-10x its previous levels. Fox News is the biggest user of the phrase, almost twice as much as CNN and MSNBC combined. Google Trends shows a more gradual progression, taking off in the aftermath of Trump's 2016 election, but accelerating in late 2018 and early 2019. It too shows a massive surge the last few months.
