The timeline below shows the total monthly mentions of Texas across television news over the past decade, showing that the massive storm this month received little attention across the national channels, with the state mentioned little more than a typical month. Noteably, mentions were less than a third of August 2017's Hurricane Harvey. Over the past decade Fox News has mentioned the state more than its peers, at 136,533 mentions, compared with 117,376 on MSNBC and 112,900 on CNN.
