For international non-English channels, the just-relaunched TV News Explorer allows searching in both the original native language ASR transcripts and machine-generated English translations, allowing both seamless search across the more than 150+ languages and dialects represented in the TV News Archive and native language search when precision is needed for words whose meanings are obscured by translation. This means that when searching the "IRINN" channel, since it is in Persian, all of your keywords must be in Persian, whereas when searching the "IRINN (Translated)" channel, all of your keywords should be in English, since you are searching the English machine translations of the original Persian transcripts. No data is used to train or tune any model. Remember that some channels are highly multilingual, with broadcasts spanning multiple languages in a given day, so you will need to include keywords in multiple languages when searching those channels.
