Mentions of "herd immunity" in online news coverage first appeared in significant numbers starting March 13, 2020, ramped down over May 2020 and leapt on November 12, 2020 as positive news emerged about the vaccines, peaking on December 19, 2020. Online coverage has continued at those elevated levels in the month and a half since, showing continued discussion and interest. In contrast, however, television news coverage shows little interest since the start of the year.
