New Signs Of Life In Media Coverage Of Campaign 2020

The 2020 presidential race all but vanished from television news on March 12th as the Covid-19 pandemic consumed all available airtime, disappearing almost entirely after the 19th as the Biden-Sanders contest was finally resolved. Since then the race has collectively garnered just over 100 mentions a day.

However, since April 8 the race has begun to attract attention again, with several hundred mentions a day, focusing on Biden as he assumes the mantle of the prospective nominee while fighting allegations of sexual assault.
