Legislative Experiments With Gemini: Using Gemini 3 Flash + Nano Banana Pro To Deeply Analyze The Themes & Trends Of A Day Of Congressional Business

Last week we explored how Congressional staffers could leverage Gemini 3 in helping to prepare briefings for their members, leveraging Gemini to look across a day of CSPAN coverage of the legislative business of Congress and identify its overarching themes and trends, producing a richly annotated thematic analysis that includes source links to connect each thematic insight back to the original source material. What happens when we combine Gemini 3 Flash and Nano Banana Pro together to produce a deeply researched thematic and trend analysis of a day of the legislative business of the United States Congress? Not only could such a thematic look at Congressional business be incredibly useful to Congressional staffers, it would be a powerful tool for journalists and academic researchers working to understand the macro-level themes and trends of the legislative focus of Congress.

Here we use Gemini 3 Flash to deeply examine the legislative business of Congress from February 5, 2026 as covered by CSPAN, CSPAN2 and CSPAN3 to tease out its overarching themes and trends into a richly annotated thematic analysis. Each high-level insight is connected back to the original source material, allowing journalists and scholars to understand the legislative themes and trends and instantly click out to the underlying sources for details as a public interest experiment in applying deep trend analysis to the daily business of the United States Congress to explore how responsibly applied advanced AI can help journalists, scholars and Congressional staff better understand the overarching legislative trends, themes and patterns of Congress.
