Kalev spent the day at Columbia University advising its new Applied Analytics program, led by Procter & Gamble CIO Filippo Passerini. The program’s mission statement is:
Analytics touches every aspect of an organization, from IT to HR to marketing to sales. At present, there is a critical shortfall of leaders and managers who can effectively command data to solve complex problems, inform strategic decisions, prompt action, and create value for their organizations and stakeholders. To address this gap, Columbia University is developing programs in Applied Analytics for professionals who need to develop and deploy analytics talent, systems and tools in an integrated, enterprise-wide framework and build an analytical culture that will be vital to the success of that organization.
