Facebook Was A Democracy 2009-2012 But We Didn't Vote So It Turned Into A Dictatorship

It can be hard to imagine that just under a decade ago Facebook was actually a rudimentary democratic state in which its users had a binding vote on the company's policies. Yet, our collective apathetic failure to vote transitioned the site to the digital dictatorship we know today.
