Adding mentions of Trump to the mix and the difference becomes even more pronounced (mentions of him related to the US Government's response to the outbreak would result in mentions of both him and the outbreak together, so the boost here of the 2020 field is largely due to mentions of him unrelated to the virus):
Clearly the 2020 race has consumed the news media far more than the virus.
