Comparative Media Analysis: Using Gemini Deep Research To Explore A Month Of Russia/Belarusian/Ukrainian & Two Months Of Estonian TV News

Yesterday we used Gemini's Deep Research to explore half a year of Congressional legislative trends and three months of Iranian media. Let's repeat this process, examining our Media Trends PDF reports first for Belarusian (Belarus24), Russian (Channel One, NTV, Russia 1, Russia 24, Zvezda and Russia Today) and Ukraine (Espreso) for the month to date (July 1-13) and then in a separate analysis, let's explore Estonian media via ERR and ETV+ for the past month and a half (June 2 – July 13th). Both analyses will be performed using Gemini Deep Research Pro Extended. No data was used to train or tune any model and only our own Media Trends PDF reports were provided to Gemini, not the actual broadcasts themselves.

First let's examine the Belarusian, Russian and Ukrainian channels using the following prompt:

Attached is a concatenated set of deep analysis reports about Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian television news channels.
Deeply analyze these and produce a deeply researched rich analytical report about the coverage of these channels.
Be thorough, examine the underlying trends large and small and provide context and hypotheses that explain these trends.
Compare and contrast the channels over this period and their respective trends - how similar or different are they and explain why you think that is.
At the end look to the future and project where these trends appear to be heading.
What can you discern about the future direction of the war based on this coverage and its trends?
What are some of the most unexpected themes and trends you see?
How has their coverage changed over the time period of the attached reports? Speculate on the reasons for those changes.

Now let's slightly modify the prompt for our Estonian analysis:

Attached is a concatenated set of deep analysis reports about Estonian television news channels.
What can you discern about the future based on this coverage and its trends?
What are some of the most unexpected themes and trends you see?
How has their coverage changed over the time period of the attached reports? Speculate on the reasons for those changes.
Perform a deep narrative/topical assessment. Examine the overall narrative/topical distribution and then examine and visualize how it has changed over time as a timeline.
