Assessing the link between economic performance and protest activity in Europe

Mario Quaranta of Italy's Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali ‘Guido Carli’ published an article last month in the journal Current Sociology using GDELT to explore the link between economic state and protest activity in 25 European countries from 2000-2014, showing a strong link between economic performance and protest activity.
