Today we are excited to announce the release of the Campaign 2020 Media Dashboard! In collaboration with the Internet Archive's Television News Archive, the Campaign 2020 dashboard tracks all mentions of the 2020 US presidential candidates on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News national television news, the evening news broadcasts of ABC, CBS and NBC and worldwide online news coverage in 65 languages and displays the results in an interactive dashboard updated every 30 minutes. Following in the footsteps of the 2016 dashboard, this vastly expanded and improved display makes it trivial to track the live ebbs and flows of 2020's media coverage.
All displays can be embedded in your own website (though high traffic sites should download the data and host their own local visualizations) or downloaded as static PNG images and the data behind each graph can be downloaded as a CSV file. Each graph also has an option to view the live CSV download link for that graph that can be used to automatically download the latest CSV data for that graph on a regular interval via your own cron script. Advanced users can also download the entire dataset in CSV format for analysis. The full queries used for each candidate are also provided.
We're incredibly excited to see what you are able to do with this new dashboard!
