In collating our copy of Covens & Mortier's "Afbeeldingen der merkwaardigste geschiedenissen van het Oude en Nieuwe Testament", which contains a complete set of Jan Luyken's famous series of 61 monumental double-page engravings with equisitely detailed and complex crowd scenes, along with one additional double-page engraving, 5 fold-out maps and 30 engraved vignettes by Jan Luyken, we discovered that our copy had several of the engravings bound in an unusual order, which is not uncommon for picture Bibles of this era. But, given that we cannot read Dutch, scanning the the Dutch titles under each engraving and connecing them back to the Dutch table of contents, not to mention the complexity of the four-scene engravings, became problematic. The best we could do was to count the plate numbers and check them off, but in the end Gemini was able once again to help us, transcribing and translating the table of contents in its entirety and then telling us which engraving referred to which table of contents entry.
