Like everything else in the Covid-19 era, the 2020 presidential race is adapting to its own “new normal” in media coverage, with presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden receiving around 200-300 combined mentions across CNN, MSNBC and Fox News each day over the past two weeks, down from his 400-600 daily mentions in the first few days of the month. Sanders, Warren and the rest of the 2020 slate have all but disappeared from coverage, leaving Biden to eke out a steady state of mentions that are a far cry from the breathless wall-to-wall coverage that dominated the race pre-Covid.
