2009 H1N1 Outbreak On CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Now Available In VGEG

UPDATE (8/31/2020): The dataset is now available in the AI TV Explorer!

Collaborating with the Media-Data Research Consortium under its Google Cloud COVID-19 Research Grant “Quantifying the COVID-19 Public Health Media Narrative Through TV & Radio News Analysis" we are excited to announce that the Visual Global Entity Graph 2.0 has been updated to extend our non-consumptive Cloud Video annotations for CNN, MSNBC and Fox News during the 2010 H1N1 outbreak July 6, 2009 through May 4, 2010 (the date range of the majority of television news coverage of the outbreak).

Note that this outbreak occurs right at the start of the Internet Archive's Television News Archive's coverage and there are several large holes of missing data, including a large section of CNN and MSNBC at the peak of the outbreak that must be factored into analyses.

The raw JSON API output and summary airtime files are available as part of the Visual Global Entity Graph 2.0! We are currently in the process of loading the files into the TV AI Explorer and they will be available for search later this coming week!
